About the K-12 School Profile System

The "new" K-12 School Profile System is a reporting system presenting school, district and provincial level indicators for all schools in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Information is arranged by year.  That is, for information pertaining to the school year 1999-00, simply select the year 1999-00 at http://www.education.gov.nl.ca/sch_rep/pro_year.htm.

Beginning in 1999-00 the School Profile System was transferred from being a system that had to be downloaded and installed locally to a more accessible system on the web. By distributing this system on the internet, all schools, district staff, department staff and other stakeholders will have continuous on-line access to school level information. Information is reported by entering a specific school number or by using the built-in mapping feature, schools can be simply selected from a map.

The School Profile System does not report individual teacher or student names. That is, all student and class information is aggregated to produce school, district and provincial results. In the case where there are 5 or fewer students involved in any achievement test or survey, the report will be withheld to protect student confidentiality.   For such reports, please contact the Department of Education.
