Glossary: Class Size, Instructional Preparations, and Multi-graded Classes
This report shows the distribution of
class size. That is the percent of classes in the school that fall within
a particular range of students. Also, an indicator of teacher workload is
shown
(Workload: refers to all unique course and grade assignments for a
teacher). For example, if a teacher is assigned 5 classes of math in grade 9, this is counted as 1 preparation. If a teacher is assigned 2 classes of Science to grade 8 and 1 class of Math to grade 6, then this is considered 2 preparations. The
percentage of teachers teaching multi-graded classes is shown, as well.
